A store manager stormed over to a sales clerk after watching him argue with a customer who had just left the store.
“I saw that whole conversation,” the manager said. “How many times do I have to tell you? The customer is always right. Do you understand me?”
The clerk sighed.
“Yes, sir.”
“The customer is always right.”
“Good,” the manager replied. “Now tell me, what were you arguing about?”
The clerk looked uncomfortable.
“Well, sir...”
“What was it?”
“The customer said your wife is having dinner tonight with another man.”
The manager's face turned red.
“What?!”
The clerk nodded.
“Yes, sir.”
The manager clenched his fists.
“And what did you say?”
The clerk smiled and replied:
“I told him the customer is always right.”
